You will have to teach your Sena buddies how to do this. You can pair with the Sena IF you put the Senas in universal pairing mode. All my buddies have Senas so I have worked to hard to figure this one out. Universal pairing - Here is where I struggle.Phone connection - the Sena will tell me when my phone automatically connects at startup, the M1-S doesn't.I eventually learned how to control the volume buttons, but the sound volume control is more course grain compared to the jog dial It is hard to feel the buttons with gloves on and I can’t get the volume exactly how I would like it because it increases in step changes. Volume buttons vs jog dial - using the Sena jog dial wheel is way superior to the volume buttons on the M1-S.Mobile App - Sena has a mobile app where you can see and make setting changes, the M1-S is much simpler and doesn’t have an app.Price - these are half the price of the Sena 20S!.Long press the volume buttons and you can skip to the next or last song.

Ear bud functionality - Listening to music from my phone is just like using bluetooth ear buds.Microphone - My buddy can hear me loud and clear when I wear my dual sport helmet while he couldn’t always hear me with the SMH-5.Sound quality - The sound quality and volume is just as good if not better than the Senas.I still charge them once a week because I my Sena have given me PTSD All I know is when I check the battery life, it is almost always > 90%. Battery life - the battery life is amazing! I can run these things way longer than the Senas without charging.I really have a problem throwing away an expensive devices simply because the battery can’t be replaced with a reliable one so I decided to try out the M1-S because the reviews claimed it has amazing battery life.Īfter using the M1-S for a few months, I have made many observations that I will share and hopefully I can find someone who knows how to solve the remaining problem that I have Sena doesn’t sell replacement batteries and instead want you to fork out the cash for a new unit! I found replacement batteries and ran with them until they died a few months later. I purchased a pair of these communicators to replace a Sena 20S and SMH-5 that both worked well until the batteries died.
